YB YEO BEE YIN
Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change
YB Yeo Bee Yin was born on May 26, 1983 and grew up in Gomali Estate and Batu Anam, the northern part of Johor (Segamat District). She graduated from University Technology Petronas with a first-class honours degree in Bachelor of Chemical Engineering. She then worked for Schlumberger, a US oil and gas company, as an international field engineer for oil exploration and production. After working for two (2) years, she went on to pursue MPhil (Masters in Philosophy) in Advanced Chemical Engineering in Cambridge University and completed her master degree with a Commendation. She was also a recipient of the prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholarship for her post-graduate studies.
YB Yeo is a Member of Parliament of Bakri, Johor after she won the seat in the 14th General Election (GE-14) on May 9, 2018. YB Yeo Bee Yin is also the National Assistant Publicity Secretary of the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Vice Chairwoman of Pakatan Harapan Youth. At the age of 29, Bee Yin contested for the first time in Malaysia’s 13th General Election (GE13) and was elected as the State Assemblywoman for Damansara Utama on May 5, 2013, making her the youngest member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly.
